Sotto le falesie di fronte all'Isola di Bergeggi si nascondono calette di ciottoli dentro l'area marina protetta: Punta Predani si raggiunge da un sentiero ripido o via mare, le altre solo in kayak. Niente servizi, acqua tra le più limpide del Ponente.

Calette di ciottoli ai piedi del promontorio di 276 metri, con acqua limpida e fondale che scende ripido tra scogliere. Raggiungibili solo a piedi o in barca, quasi senza servizi. Per chi vuole isolarsi e fare snorkeling lontano dalla folla.

La spiaggia libera più grande di Bordighera, quasi completamente gratuita. Ciottoli, acqua pulita con Bandiera Blu 2026 e una zona dedicata ai cani. Come arrivare, dove parcheggiare e quando evitare la folla.

How we select
Liguria is not Sardinia, but some areas offer interesting snorkelling conditions. The best are around the rocks at Varigotti (Baia dei Saraceni and Punta Crena), in the Bergeggi Marine Protected Area and around the Marina di Corniglia. The water is clearer to the east, but colder. Bring a mask, snorkel and short fins. Water shoes are almost always needed to enter the water. Avoid rough sea days: visibility drops quickly.
Other useful filters
The best areas are Varigotti (Baia dei Saraceni and Punta Crena), the Bergeggi Marine Protected Area, the Marina di Corniglia in the Cinque Terre and the lateral rocks of the free beach at Pietra Ligure. The water is clearest to the east but the best conditions vary by season.
From June to September. Visibility is best on calm sea days, early morning. In July and August the sea is warmer (22-25°C); in September the water is still mild and beaches are less crowded.
No, for the areas on this list you can snorkel independently from the shore. The Bergeggi Marine Protected Area has some zone restrictions: check the Bergeggi municipality website before entering the water.
